The motor works, it turns on, you can hear the motor noise, but it does not play cassettes.
This usually means that the belt needs to be changed. It is a small rubber wire and costs only 1 euro. You have to open the Walkman and replace this belt. Look on YOUTUBE; there are many instructional videos.
