It’s not you, it’s me. Now we have to part ways. Our time was short but intense. You were always there, catching me in the evenings after all those tough days. You gently rocked me back and forth while I spent hours on the phone. Your size is perfect: so wide, so deep, you carried me through all those cross-legged Zoom sessions. You are soft, you are sturdy, you are an all-rounder (360-degree rotation). I can’t think of anything I could fault you for. Well, one thing: unfortunately, your removable fabric was not supposed to be washed, which I always found a little irritating...? 

Why am I ending our relationship? 
My dearest armchair, I’m sorry, but I don’t think we’re a good match. Your orange is so bold, so intense, so beautiful, so... much for me. You know what my home looks like, I’m a hippie-boho girl, and you, you are this strong, super-hot statement piece. I knew right away at IKEA that this wouldn’t be forever, but you know how it sometimes is with impulse control...

I wish you that you find a new, loving home where your radiance is appreciated every day. I will accompany you to the doorstep. <3
