Simple and characterful vintage wooden chair from Switzerland, with the original workshop label from the A. Brandenberg joinery, Uster, on the underside. The label mentions “Eidg. dipl. Schreinermeister” as well as “Möbelwerkstätten – Innenausbau”, giving the piece a beautiful, traceable regional provenance. The chair displays the reduced, functional design language of classic Swiss utility and bistro furniture from the post-war period. The slightly curved backrest, slender legs and softly rounded seat create a balanced, understated silhouette. Condition: The wood appears to be beech or beechwood, stained and lacquered in a warm honey-brown tone. Particularly appealing are the age-related signs of use: scratches, abrasion, darker areas on the seat and legs, as well as minor knocks, give the chair an authentic patina.
