Exceptional two-seat vintage cinema bench or theatre seating with a rich red velvet cover and classic folding mechanism. An original piece full of character with pronounced patina, ideal as a statement piece of furniture for a loft, living room, home cinema, studio, shop or catering venue.

Each of the two seats has a high padded backrest, wide armrests and a mechanical metal substructure. The visible technical construction beneath the seats, with metal frame and suspension, is particularly appealing – a typical detail of historic cinema and theatre seating.

The original seats were mounted on an elongated wooden floor plate. This allows the bench to be used freestanding and means it does not need to be screwed directly into the floor like classic cinema seating.

The intense red velvet gives the furniture a strong stage and theatre effect. 

Condition:
Clearly used vintage condition with visible patina and need for repairs. Overall, the red cover is still vivid and decorative, but shows various signs of age and use.

Small areas of damage or holes in the fabric are visible on the backrests. In some areas of the armrests and undersides of the seats, the cover is loose, torn or attached afterwards. One outer armrest has a black covered section. Older fixings with black adhesive tape, as well as age-related signs of use on the mechanism, suspension and metal parts, are visible beneath the seats.
