This rare cigarette dispenser was produced in 1970 on the occasion of the FIFA World Cup in Mexico and is modelled on the famous Adidas Telstar – the first officially used World Cup ball, which made football history with its black-and-white pattern. With the inscription Le Ballon Officiel de la Coupe du Monde 1970, the piece recalls one of the most defining sporting events of the 20th century. The dispenser is designed as a football and opens in the middle. Inside is a finely crafted, gold-coloured mechanism with space for 25 cigarettes (approximately 0.9 cm in diameter each). By lifting the upper hemisphere, the contents are presented in an elegant and playful way – an object that combines functionality with decorative appeal. This rare collector’s item is far more than an original smoking accessory – it combines sporting history, design history and an iconic brand. For collectors of Adidas memorabilia, football fans and lovers of unusual vintage objects, it is a highlight. With its combination of authentic Adidas branding, historical connection to the 1970 World Cup and mechanical sophistication, it embodies the spirit of the early 1970s. Condition: The cigarette dispenser is in beautiful, fully functional vintage condition. The plastic surface shows light, even signs of use and an authentic patina. The gold-coloured mechanism is clean and reliable. Overall, an exceptionally well-preserved collector’s item with significant sporting and design-historical value.
