This expressive glass vase by the Belgian design label Serax combines a sculptural form with functional refinement and is exemplary of the house’s modern, artistically influenced signature. Since the 1980s, Serax has worked with international designers, bringing together artisanal techniques with contemporary design standards. The vase is made from lightly tinted, smoky-coloured glass with softly blended transparency that, depending on how the light falls, shifts between warm grey and slightly olive-toned nuances. The organically curving body feels softly modelled and, in terms of its lines, recalls classic Mid-Century forms, yet it is deliberately interrupted by irregularly incorporated openings in the upper area. These perforated openings give the vase not only graphic lightness, but also open up new possibilities for styling: individual branches or flowers can be guided and arranged with precision, creating almost sculptural, architectural compositions. The asymmetrically shaped opening underlines the artistic character and clearly elevates the object from a purely functional vessel to a design piece. With its size and presence, the vase works both as a standalone piece on sideboards or tables and as part of a curated group of modern glass objects. Condition: Very good condition with light, age-appropriate signs of use and occasional inclusions in the glass, typical of mouth-blown production. No cracks or chips. Dimensions: L18 x W15 x H34 cm
