Elegant vintage Trieste folding chair for children, designed by Aldo Jacober for Alberto Bazzani in the 1960s. The Italian design is characterised by its consistently reduced construction and clear, geometric formal language.

The chair is made of solid beechwood and finished in a characteristic dark red tone. Particularly distinctive is the delicate seat made of individual narrow wooden slats, which lends a fine rhythmic structure to the otherwise strictly constructed design.

The slightly splayed legs and diagonally arranged side elements form a striking, almost graphic silhouette. The upper backrest rail is gently curved and adds a subtle organic accent within the rectilinear construction. Thanks to the integrated folding mechanism, the chair can be folded completely and stored in a particularly space-saving way.

The combination of functionality, minimalist design and carefully crafted details makes the Trieste a characteristic example of Italian design from the 1960s. The design is held, among other places, in the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related signs of use. The wood shows scratches, minor dents and abrasion on the red surface in places.
