Decorative cup set from the Swiss cult brand Bopla!, produced by the traditional Langenthal porcelain factory in Switzerland. The set consists of two coffee or tea cups with matching saucers and belongs to a colourful design series from the early to mid-1990s. The Bopla collection was introduced by the Langenthal porcelain factory to create contemporary, artistically influenced porcelain, often in collaboration with illustrators and graphic designers. The all-around decors show a lively mix of ornamental elements, floral motifs and figurative illustrations. These are complemented by romantic inscriptions like Mon amour or Je t’aime, making the set a charming tête-à-tête for lovers. Particularly characteristic is the wide 23.75 karat gold leaf band that encircles the cups and gives the vivid illustrations a warm depth.

The saucers pick up the motifs of the cups and expand them into large, almost collage-like compositions. The combination of strong colours, graphic ornaments and gold accents gives the service a lively, pop-art aesthetic typical of decorative-oriented design of the 1990s. The series was created shortly before the closure of the traditional Langenthal porcelain factory and is now rare to find. On the underside there are the original Bopla! – Swiss made brand stickers, confirming the origin from Swiss porcelain production.

Condition: Impeccable, lightly used condition. Decors and gold applications very well preserved.
