Striking Italian floor lamp from the postmodern 1980s, made of black lacquered metal with a sculptural lamp head of textured Murano glass. The head is executed as a geometric composition of faceted, clear glass elements that refract the light and create a characteristic, atmospheric lighting effect. At the centre sits the light source in a metallic fitting with a perforated reflector, typical of high-quality Italian lighting design of that era. The reduced, strictly vertical frame stands on a square base plate and emphasises the architectural character of the lamp. It is controlled via a cord dimmer. The combination of black metal and solid Murano glass is stylistically clearly attributable to designs realised in the 1980s by, among others, Leucos or AV Mazzega. Due to the glass quality, the cut structure and the formal workmanship, production in the Murano environment is very likely. Condition: Good used condition with age-related signs of wear on the metal base and frame. Murano glass intact without cracks or chips. Electrical components including dimmer are functional.
