Rare French lounge chair by André Monpoix from the 1950s with a distinctive, graphic design language and a delicate metal construction. The design combines the lightness of French post-war design with an almost sculptural appearance. Most characteristic is the tensioned upholstery made of black plastic cord, which forms the seat, backrest and armrests and gives the chair a transparent, airy effect. The white lacquered metal frame provides an exciting contrast. The slightly reclined seating position as well as the flexibly tensioned upholstery ensure high seating comfort and lend the chair, despite its reduced construction, a pleasant lightness. The folding version is particularly rare, uniquely combining functionality and modern French design of the 1950s. Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related signs of use, minor chipping of the lacquer on the metal frame and light patina. The upholstery is in beautiful condition.
