Exceptional and rare Swiss floor lamp, attributed to Carl Moor and manufactured by BAG Turgi, made around 1950 or in the early 1950s. Its sculptural construction combines lighting and furniture in an unusual way and is a particularly characterful example of experimental Swiss lighting design from the post-war period. 

The lamp stands on a heavy, black-painted round base. From there, an extremely delicate construction of slender metal or brass rods rises upwards. At mid-height is a two-part, black-painted shelf with softly rounded contours. 

The large, organically shaped metal shade is particularly striking. Its broad reflector surface flows seamlessly into a narrow, funnel-shaped lamp body. A series of circular openings along the edge forms a fine decorative detail and, when switched on, also allows small points of light to shine through.

The lamp head is connected to the curved support by a brass joint and can be adjusted. This allows the light to be directed in different ways – as focused reading light or, via the large reflector surface, as indirect, atmospheric lighting. 

Condition:
Good authentic vintage condition with pronounced signs of use consistent with its age. The black-painted surfaces show scratches, minor paint loss and abrasion, particularly on the shelf and base. The metal and brass parts have a pronounced natural patina with discolouration and oxidation marks. The light-coloured lampshade also has minor age-related surface marks.
