Scheurich ceramic vase by Heinz Siery, West Germany, 1950s/60s Expressive Mid-Century ceramic vase by Scheurich Keramik, designed by Heinz Siery. The slender, amphora-like shape with a long spout and an elegantly curved handle combines sculptural presence with functional design and is exemplary of the innovative formal language of West German ceramics from the post-war period. Especially characteristic is the structured black-and-white lava glaze with a graphic decorative band in black, as well as coloured accents in red and yellow. The high-contrast design gives the vase a distinctive, almost architectural effect and underlines the experimental spirit of German ceramic design of the 1950s and 1960s. By combining an organic shape with geometric decoration, the object looks both decorative and timelessly modern. An authentic collectible piece from West German pottery, which looks great as a stand-alone item or as part of a ceramic collection. Condition: Good used condition with age-related signs of wear. The glaze is well preserved and shows a beautiful patina. No visible major chips or cracks. Overall, well cared for and decorative condition.
