Exceptional postmodern bar cabinet by the Italian designer Carlo Malnati, created around 1990. The piece is characterised by its sculptural formal language, high-gloss black body and combination of glass and decorative wood inlays.

The lateral cylindrical bar element with its elaborate geometric inlay work in different wood tones is particularly striking. The cylinder opens completely and contains two storage areas separated by a round glass shelf – ideal for storing glasses, bottles or bar accessories. The top also incorporates the decorative inlay motif.

The central section contains four slightly curved drawers offering generous storage space. The piece is complemented by another closed storage compartment. The curved, slightly green-tinted glass top forms the upper finish and emphasises the distinctive postmodern design.

The entire sideboard stands on an elongated black base with rounded ends and small castors, allowing the piece to be moved despite its size. The combination of glossy black surfaces, glass, curves and decorative inlay work gives the sideboard a particularly expressive character.


Condition:
Good vintage condition with age- and use-related signs of wear. The glass top has fine surface scratches but is otherwise intact. The black lacquer shows, particularly on exposed edges, the base and the drawers, minor chips, paint abrasion and fine scratches. Overall, the piece presents in an authentic vintage condition appropriate to its age.
