Original Ursa Major pendant light, designed in 1993 by Vico Magistretti for NEMO in Rovellasca near Como.

The light is a characteristic example of Italian design from the early 1990s. The compact, sculptural light body is made of polished die-cast aluminium, while the underside is finished with a large, textured pressed-glass diffuser. This combination of materials is also documented in the model specifications. 

The orange cable is particularly striking, creating a strong colour contrast with the aluminium and passing through the tapered upper part of the light. The curved ventilation slots on the top and the embossed NEMO logo further emphasise the technical-industrial character of the design. When switched on, the heavy glass diffuser produces a pleasantly soft, warmly diffused light.

Condition:
The light is in good, authentic vintage condition. The polished aluminium has age- and use-related scratches, slight oxidation or surface marks, and patina.
