This compact, freely shaped glass work is exemplary of the organic design language of Italian Murano glass art from the 1960s to the 1970s. The sculptural, almost droplet-like silhouette with intertwining lines creates a new effect from every viewing angle and makes the piece more like a small glass sculpture than a classic vase. Characteristic is the so-called Sommerso look: coloured glass inclusions in warm amber, honey and brown tones appear embedded in the clear glass body and create a strong sense of depth. This technique was especially widespread in the Mid-Century and is still associated today with high-quality Murano production. The softly blended colour gradients at the base contrast with the clear, heavy mass of glass and give the piece a calm yet very present appearance. Due to its solid execution and closed form, the piece is suitable both as a decorative single object and as a collectible within a group of glass items. Condition: Very good vintage condition with minimal signs of use, occasional small air inclusions due to production, no visible damage.
