Authentic surveying or measuring instrument tripod from the 1940s with a three-legged construction made of solid oak and metal fittings. The solid workmanship as well as the tapering metal feet indicate its original use in surveying or in the military field, where maximum stability and precision were required. The warm patina of the wood and the age-oxidised metal parts give the tripod a distinctive technical and industrial character. Today, the object is ideally suited as a decorative single piece, for example as a lamp stand, display object, or as an exceptional home accessory in an industrial, loft or mid-century interior. The distinctive construction combines handcrafted quality with functional aesthetics, making the tripod a special witness of the first half of the 20th century. Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related signs of use. The wood has a beautiful, even patina as well as minor marks from decades of use. The metal fittings show age-related oxidation marks. The construction is stable and fully functional. Item number: 15735 Dimensions: H90-150 cm
