Expressive small cabinet from European post-war modernism, probably dating from the 1950s. Particularly striking is the graphic front design with two opposing sliding doors in vivid red and black, framed by a warm-toned wooden body. The two doors slide sideways in space-saving tracks. Behind them is practical storage space with a shelf. Long, slightly curved wooden handles add a handcrafted accent and create a beautiful contrast with the flat, colourful fronts. The side panels are slightly angled, giving the piece a subtle trapezoidal silhouette when viewed from the side. Narrow raised finishing strips at the top and the overall pared-back construction emphasise its functional Mid-Century character. With its compact format, the cabinet can be used in many ways as a small chest of drawers, bookcase or record cabinet, bedside table, storage unit or freestanding decorative object. Condition: Authentic vintage condition with pronounced age-related signs of wear. The wooden body shows scratches, dents, minor losses and discolouration, particularly on the edges and top. The red and black sliding doors show visible surface marks and abrasion. There are also signs of wear inside. Dimensions: L72 x W22 x H46 cm
