Distinctive armchair from the Danish design tradition of the 1980s, designed by Rainer Daumiller for GUBI. The chair is characterised by its sculptural yet distinctly crafted formal language. The frame is made entirely of solid wood and is supported by four sturdy, rounded cylindrical legs.

The organically shaped seat follows the natural sitting position with its gently curved form. Particularly striking is the broad, curved backrest, which extends forwards at the sides and, together with the rounded armrests, creates an almost enveloping form. Despite its solid construction, the substantial wooden elements and softly finished edges give the chair a harmonious and balanced appearance.

As is typical of Daumiller’s designs, the natural material takes centre stage. The clearly visible wood grain, knots and individual irregularities have deliberately been retained, giving the chair its characteristic, warm appearance. The solid construction combines functionality and durability with a distinctive, almost sculptural aesthetic.

Condition:
Good used vintage condition with age-related signs of wear. The wood shows a natural patina as well as minor pressure marks, scratches and surface marks. Overall, the chair is in a well-maintained and stable condition.
