This charming kitchen table by Kelko is a genuine representative of functional post-war modernism and, with its fresh colour scheme, instantly brings character to any room. The rectangular tabletop is covered with a yellow Resopal and/or laminate surface that not only catches the eye, but is also particularly easy to care for and suitable for everyday use. The black edge trim creates a nice contrast and highlights the clear, graphic design line.
The frame consists of slender, chrome-plated steel tube legs, giving the table a light, almost floating effect. Typical of this era is the combination of industrial materials and a homely colour design, as has been particularly well executed here. Under the tabletop there is an integrated drawer with a matching yellow front and a simple metal handle—ideal for cutlery, kitchen utensils or small everyday items. Kelko was known for solid, affordable furniture with a functional focus, often used in kitchens and for furnishing objects.
