These iconic rocking chairs of the S 32 V model from Thonet exemplify the timeless combination of Bauhaus aesthetics and industrial perfection. The chair, originally designed in 1928 by Marcel Breuer, is regarded as one of the most significant contributions to modern furniture history and is still produced today in almost unchanged form. Characteristic of this version is the chrome-plated steel tube frame in a classic rocking chair shape, whose springy construction provides a comfortable, lightly rocking seating experience. Seat and back surfaces are covered with Vienna cane and framed in a finely made solid beechwood frame. The light, lacquered surface highlights the warm, natural expression and forms an elegant contrast to the cool chrome.

These chairs are an original Thonet series production from the 1980s. Typical features of this period include the impressed THONET signature in the wooden frame, the uniformly dimensioned steel tube, and the industrial construction of the back attachment using metal brackets. The cane was partially re-covered and therefore shows slight differences in colour. The V variant stands for the classic version with Vienna cane on the seat and back and is among the most popular versions of this model.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with slight age-related signs of use. Chrome with slight patina, cane fully intact with slight colour variations. Wooden frame with occasional signs of use.
