Rare version of the classic Flötotto school chair with an integrated writing desk. The design combines the ergonomically shaped seat shell typical of Flötotto, made from moulded laminated wood, with a robust steel tube frame and a work surface mounted to the side. The dark-stained wooden shell shows the characteristic grain of the Pagholz material, which helped make Flötotto one of the most important manufacturers of school and contract furniture of the post-war period.

The asymmetrical design with a writing desk gives the chair a distinctive functional character and makes it today a sought-after collectible piece of German industrial and school furniture design. Particularly appealing is the combination of a technically styled steel tube frame, warm wooden surfaces and the clear, matter-of-fact design language of the 1960s and 1970s.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-related signs of use. The wooden surfaces show light scratches, signs of use and a nice patina. The chrome-plated steel tube frame shows isolated age-related signs of use. The construction is stable and fully functional.
