Striking vintage desk lamp, model Byblos by C.G. Lighting. The lamp combines a strictly technical construction with the postmodern formal language typical of the late 1980s. Executed entirely in dark anthracite/black, it appears at once pared-back, graphic and highly sculptural. Particularly characteristic is the semicircular, heavy base, from which two slender parallel metal rods rise. The entire lamp arm can be tilted far forwards or backwards using the articulated construction. The flat, disc-shaped lamp head is also movable and can be precisely directed towards the work surface. This allows the lamp to be adjusted either compactly or with a very wide reach. The transformer is integrated into the characteristic base; the original rocker switch is located on the side or top of the housing. The open technical construction and visible joints emphasise its high-quality industrial/postmodern character. Condition: The lamp is in very attractive used vintage condition. The matt black surfaces show only slight traces related to age and use. The joints, lamp head and base appear complete and well preserved. Dimensions: W20 x H50 cm
