Expressive Italian ceramic figurine in the form of a rooster, by Behrend Firenze – Made in. The decorative sculpture stands out with its intense, high-gloss colouring in a rich cherry red or magenta and its exceptionally sculptural finish.

Particularly striking is the elaborately modelled plumage on the neck and chest, with numerous individually shaped, pointed feathers. The large, softly curved wings and the openwork, fan-shaped rear section create an exciting contrast. The comb, beak, legs and claws are also finely detailed.

The combination of a strong monochrome glaze, sculptural form and decorative presence is typical of Italian ceramic objects from the Mid-Century era. The figurine works both as an independent sculpture and as a striking accent in a modern, eclectic or classic interior.

Condition: Beautiful vintage condition. The high-gloss glaze is overall very well preserved. Minor age- and use-related signs may be present. Typical placement and signs of use are visible on the unglazed base ring on the underside.
