Classic chairs of model 40/4, designed by the American designer David Rowland in 1964 and produced by the Danish manufacturer HOWE. This model is considered one of the most significant developments in stackable chairs and has been used worldwide in public and institutional spaces. Characteristic is the delicate, chrome-plated steel frame, which allows extremely compact stacking – up to 40 chairs can be stacked in a space-saving way, which is also where the model gets its name from. The seat and back surfaces are made of formed laminated wood with a slightly ergonomic shaping and pleasant flexibility. The clear, functional design consistently follows the Mid-Century Modern approach and combines industrial precision with timeless aesthetics. With its reduced construction, the chairs look light and graphic, yet they remain robust and suitable for everyday use.


Condition: Good used condition with slight to normal signs of wear. Some scratches and wear on the wooden surfaces as well as age-related marks on the chrome-plated frame. Overall well-maintained and fully functional.
