The stackable chair, model Forum II, is from Horgenglarus, one of the oldest and best-known Swiss furniture manufacturers, based in Glarus. The model was designed in the 1960s through the early 1970s and is a prime example of the functional and long-lasting design that the company still stands for today. Forum II combines a finely appearing yet very sturdy chrome-plated steel tube frame with an ergonomically shaped seat and backrest made from laminated, glued wood. The front edge of the seat is gently rounded to increase seating comfort, while the slightly reclined backrest provides optimal support. The interplay between the warm wood tone and the cool metal creates a balanced, straightforwardly elegant look that perfectly captures the character of Swiss industrial design from that era. Thanks to its stackable construction, the Forum II was originally designed for public spaces, multi-purpose halls, and educational institutions—today, it is regarded as a timeless classic that also integrates harmoniously into private living areas. The design embodies Horgenglarus’s typical combination of craftsmanship precision, reduction, and durability. Condition: The chairs are in good, original condition with a beautiful, even patina. The wooden surfaces show light scratches, small wear on the edges, and signs of use that reinforce the authentic character. The chrome-plated frame has minimal matte spots and isolated traces of use, but it is still stable and shiny. Overall, they are well-kept, honest chairs with typical vintage charm.
