The stackable chair model Forum II comes from Horgenglarus, one of the oldest and most renowned Swiss furniture manufacturers based in Glarus. The model was designed in the 1960s to early 1970s and exemplifies the functional and durable design that continues to define the company today. The Forum II combines a seemingly delicate yet very sturdy chrome-plated steel tube frame with an ergonomically shaped seat and back made of molded plywood. The front edge of the seat is gently rounded to increase seating comfort, while the slightly inclined backrest provides optimal support. The interplay of warm wood tones and cool metal creates a balanced, objectively elegant expression that perfectly captures the character of Swiss industrial design of that time. Thanks to its stackable construction, the Forum II was originally conceived for public spaces, multipurpose halls and educational institutions – today it is regarded as a timeless classic that also integrates harmoniously into private homes. The design embodies Horgenglarus’s typical combination of craftsmanship precision, reduction and durability. Condition: The chairs are in good, original condition with a nice, even patina. The wooden surfaces show light scratches, small edge wear and signs of use that underline the authentic character. The chrome frame has minimal dull spots and punctual signs of use, but is stable and shiny. Overall, these are well-maintained, honest chairs with typical vintage charm.
