Plain, functionalist stackable chairs from the 1960s with chrome-plated steel tube frames by the company Kilo and moulded Pagholz shells by Lignarit. The ergonomically curved seat and backrest surface is made from densified, beech veneer soaked in synthetic resin (Pagholz), and is characterised by the distinctive, strongly contrasting grain as well as the material’s high resistance. Typical are the flowing lines with softly rounded edges and the seamless transition from the seat to the backrest. Pagholz was used particularly in the contract sector because it is extremely robust, dimensionally stable and hard-wearing – ideal for schools, canteens or public facilities. The underside is embossed with Lignarit. The frame made of Kilo round steel tubing features a reduced, clear construction and allows space-saving stacking. The chairs were created in cooperation between the two manufacturers; today, the chairs are quite rare. Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related signs of use. Minor scratches and pressure marks on the shells, partially minimal traces of oxidation on the chrome. Overall stable construction and nice patina.
