This pendant lamp dates from the 1960s or 1970s and combines clear geometry with a decorative material effect. The construction consists of a cylindrical ceiling rose in chrome-plated metal, to which a wide red textile shade is attached, surrounding the central light fitting. Below sits a solid glass diffuser with a faceted, diamond-like structure that refracts the light and creates a lively sparkle. The contrast between cool chrome, the coloured textile shade and the textured glass creates an exciting interplay of sober modernity and decorative note, typical of the transitional period from mid-century design to the more expressive designs of the 1970s. The combination of glass and textile with metal points to lighting manufacturers from Germany or Italy, possible companies include Limburg, Kaiser or smaller workshops in northern Italy. The red textile fabric is rather atypical for standard series and indicates an intentionally set, fashionable detail. Condition: The lamp is overall in good condition. The glass is clean and without visible chipping, the chrome parts show light age-related signs of use. The red textile shade is evenly preserved but shows small creases and an age-related patina. Please note that the power cable has been cut very short. However, it can be easily replaced.
