Very early Leica M3, no. 702717, not only from the first year of production, but also from the first series (700001-710000; in 1954 there were 5 series up to 730000) of that year! Good and fully functional condition. The body shows normal signs of use, with no dents (a minimal impression/tiny dent on the back and a little near the lugs) or scratches! There are a few “spots” in the chrome plating on the upper front and rear! The photos are part of the description! The leather covering is complete! When tested, the shutter operated very well at all speeds by visual and auditory inspection; the slow speeds from 1 to 1/15 sec. also ran cleanly, with the 1-sec. speed perhaps slightly delayed, but without stuttering! The self-timer releases the camera perfectly! The viewfinder is clear and the rangefinder still has sufficient contrast and measures very accurately! The double-stroke advance works smoothly! No warranty can be provided anymore due to its age. Included are the body cap and an original spool (the design was still different from later ones) from the period, i.e. from 1954!
