3 antique brass mortars with pestles – heirlooms from grandmother – vintage

I am selling 3 beautiful, old mortars with pestles from my grandmother’s estate (from my mum).
They are genuine old pieces, made of heavy solid brass / bronze, not thin new decorative brass. Used with lots of care and featuring a beautiful patina. Perfect for the kitchen, pharmacy, or as vintage decor.

1. Large mortar with lion crest & ball handles (in photos 1, 4, 5)
The showpiece!
- Material: Solid brass, very heavy
- Size: approx. 12-13 cm diameter, approx. 11 cm high – weight approx. 2.5-3 kg
- Special feature: Beautiful crest with lion and crown, 2 ball handles. Very old, certainly 80-100 years old.
- Condition: Very good, stable patina, fully functional.

2. Medium mortar with handle loops (photos 2 & 8)
- Material: Solid brass
- Size: approx. 10-11 cm diameter, approx. 8-9 cm high
- Special feature: Classic apothecary shape with side loop handles
- Condition: Very good, with pestle

Small mortar with grooves (photo 3)
- Material: Solid brass
- Size: approx. 7-8 cm diameter, approx. 6-7 cm high
- Condition: Very good, ideal for spices

All 3 are genuine brass mortars, not aluminium! You can hear it from the sound and tell it from the weight.

Price – very fair:
I know what they are worth today, but I want a fair price for a collector.

The new price for such solid brass mortars is currently CHF 150-250 per piece.
