AFSHAN is a young woman raised in France within Pakistani tradition. Her mother, her sisters and her brothers are subject to the authority of an uncompromising and violent father, but Afshan also wants to live like a French woman. One day, while she travels to Pakistan for a holiday, she discovers that her family wants her to get married immediately. Pressure, manipulation, humiliation: within a month she finds herself married to a man she does not know. She then experiences a true descent into hell. Back in France, she eventually decides to divorce. But this decision comes at a price: Afshan turns her whole family against her. A moving testimony from a woman who, through her story, wishes to speak out for thousands of French women who are victims of forced marriages.
