This amazing vintage piece was made around the 1950s through the 1970s as a brass flower ashtray. Each individual petal can be removed and used as a smaller ashtray, as well as being reversible so that the flower looks "closed". The petals can be lifted off and distributed around a table during gatherings, making it a clever entertaining accessory from the mid-century era 🐈‍⬛🌞
These decorative smoking accessories were produced in relatively small numbers and are increasingly sought after by collectors of mid-century modern and Hollywood Regency décor. Complete examples with all petals intact are becoming harder to find, and they can go for around 300.- on Etsy. This one unfortunately has two of the stamens missing and the center is a bit rusted, but it can easily be fixed by using products to clean brass. I'm getting rid of it because I've never used it and it's actually taking space in my living right now :,) 💕
