SOLITUDE I & II — Diptych Original paintings by Paola Czar Two original acrylic paintings on canvas from the Solitude series, which explores silence and the relationship between people and their surroundings. The two works depict two different landscapes and moods, connected by a reduced visual language and small human figures amidst expansive spaces. Solitude I shows a dark coastal landscape beneath a deep blue sky. A small red-orange point of light adds a warm accent to the muted colour palette. Solitude II, by contrast, opens onto an intense golden-yellow landscape beneath a dark sky and the light of the moon. As a diptych, the two works enter into dialogue: dark and light, cool and warm, sea and land. The minimalist composition deliberately leaves room for the viewer’s own interpretation.
