The top row compartments are 22 cm high, the others are 19 cm and there are 2 compartments adjusted to 39.5 cm height to accommodate large binders.
The unit separates into two parts for transport, the upper compartments on one side and the top with the legs on the other. But you can also use it as two separate pieces of furniture. For example use the bottom as a desk and place the top on castors as a room divider or any other idea.
