Elegant vintage clip-on earrings dating from the 1950s/60s, featuring large oval faceted amethyst-coloured crystals set in claws on a gilt metal structure.
The open-back setting allows light to pass through the crystal, enhancing its shades from mauve pink to intense purple. The distinctive articulated clip fastening completes the typically mid-century design.
Probably faceted glass/crystal and gilt metal. No visible manufacturer’s marks.
They show natural signs of age and oxidation of the setting on the back, consistent with the age of the piece and visible in the last photographs.
