Wonderful vintage period necklace (datable to between the 1950s and 1960s), finely handcrafted using the twisted rope technique (beaded rope).The jewellery is made of a dense weave of ivory-coloured beads, interrupted along its entire length by delightful geometric motifs in the shape of small flowers. The flowers are made with metallic anthracite-grey beads and a gold-coloured bead in the centre, creating an elegant and highly refined contrast.The necklace fastens at the back with a beautiful vintage box clasp fitted with a safety lever, embellished with a central rhinestone and flanked by sparkling rondelles and domed end caps. The metal has a natural and fascinating patina from age.
