Sierra's family runs a Christmas tree farm in Oregon. It's a rather bucolic setting for a girl who grows up here. Except every year they go to their second home in California to sell their batches of Christmas trees for the season. Thus, Sierra lives two lives: her life in Oregon and her life at Christmas.
