"At 24, the Catalan Kilian Jornet is the true international leader of trail running, with his 3 victories at the Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc and the various records he set worldwide. He is a true 'high-mountain athlete' in the sense that he also excels in ski mountaineering and trains every day as if preparing for the Olympic Games. His training, mountain culture, and running expertise make him a unique figure in the trail-running world. In 'Courir ou Mourir' he shares his daily life, as well as the stream of wandering thoughts that accompany him when he runs or trains. Kilian was born in 1987 and spent the first years of his life in the mountains of Cap del Rec with his parents, who were hut keepers. From an early age he was interested in skiing and high mountain activities. At five he was already ascending his first summits. At seven he completed his first ""4000"" and traversed the Pyrenees. Today he has become an exceptional professional athlete: he is four-time Skyrunning World Champion, World Champion in Ski Mountaineering and three-time winner of the UTMB (Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, 2008, 2009 and 2011). He has broken numerous world records on legendary routes: ascent of Kilimanjaro, Trans-Pyrenees, tour of Lake Tahoe and the complete GR 20 in Corsica. Courir ou mourir is the logbook of a winner, but above all a life philosophy explained to the reader, where Kilian tells us more about his state of mind and what his quest truly represents. Rarely has an athlete been so able to express the thoughts he has when running. He was already an extraterrestrial of sport; his ability to write at such a young age, in direct contact with his passion, places him even more among extraordinary people."
