Vintage mesh skirt by Jean Paul Gaultier from the legendary Spring/Summer 1999 collection. 


The motif features lavish, colourful illustrations of flowers and fruit (such as roses, pansies and lemons) in the centre, surrounded by fine brown botanical sketches on a light beige or stone-coloured background. At the bottom of the print is the curved, unmistakable “Jean Paul Gaultier” lettering. 

Typical of Gaultier collections from this era (often under the Maille or Classique lines) is the stretchy, slightly transparent mesh/tulle fabric. At the lower hem, the skirt finishes with a slightly wavy, dark brown chiffon or silk flounce, giving the garment additional movement.
