In January 2006, Raf Simons Had Just Completed His Debut At Jil Sander. His Own Mainline Show That Season, Titled La Defence, Was Something Else Entirely. Free From The Weight Of An Established House, He Pursued A Super Modernist Menswear With Experimental Collar Constructions That Defined The Collection. This Sweatshirt Belongs To That Moment. The Body Reads As Sportswear. The Neck Does Not. A Stiff, Coiling Collar Finished With A Lacquered Polyamide Band Reconfigures The Garment Entirely. What Sits At The Throat Becomes The Subject. The Rest Recedes. The Label Documents It Plainly: Autumn Winter 2006/07.
