Already in the beginnings of the history of cartomancy, the TAROT DE MARSEILLE appeared in various versions and found its full expressive power in the 1930 edition by Paul Marteau. 

It is precisely this edition that Grimaud is trying to reproduce faithfully here. The included instructions are a new approach to getting acquainted with the Tarot: a kind of model of the universe that enables everyone to experience the Tarot, understand it and finally interpret it by studying the 78 cards in the deck—cards that are generally referred to as the Arcanas.
