Scribblenauts Unlimited tells the story of Maxwell who, after playing a prank on an old wizard, must save his sister from a spell. To do this he must travel the world and help people to obtain Stariten and Starit pieces.
Unlike its predecessors, Scribblenauts Unlimited uses a level-based structure where multiple people with quests appear in the same area. These people all have a puzzle the player must solve, usually using the in-game notebook that materialises any object or person the player writes into it, just like in previous games. Adjectives can still be applied to objects, people and animals. New are the puzzles included in the menu, categorised under themes like "Food" or "Vehicles", which simply let the player guess which object the puzzle also refers to.
