***History: Before the year 2000, these types of socks could only be knitted in white. However, with advancing technology, the dyeing techniques for this wool also improved. During the very cold winter season, sheep’s wool was the only product available to people involved in animal husbandry. Spending time on winter evenings served as a hobby for women and helped them keep warm. In ancient times, it was very difficult to heat a house. Those who were financially better off could heat their house with a stove. To get through these difficult times without catching even the slightest cold, they made various knitted woollen items. The most important of these were woollen socks. Socks knitted on four knitting needles are the result of a great deal of work. In addition, processing sheep’s wool into yarn is a separate task. Compared to the past, there is no longer a heating problem, but this can now continue as a form of culture. My aim is to introduce the Anatolian culture originating from the centre of Türkiye to different cultures.
