The game SSX for PlayStation 3 (PS3) from 2012 is a modern reinterpretation of the popular snowboarding series, known for its adrenaline-fueled gameplay on iconic, realistically recreated mountains. 

The game is based on NASA topographic satellite data and offers nine massive mountain ranges to explore. Gameplay is divided into three main modes: 

Race It:
This mode is about descending the huge, open mountains as fast as possible without invisible walls.

Trick It:
This mode focuses on crazy, gravity-defying tricks where the goal is to achieve the highest score.

Survive It:
This element requires players to survive dangerous runs with natural hazards such as avalanches, freezing temperatures and whiteouts.

Explore & Global Events:
The game also features an extensive online mode where players can compete against their friends’ ghosts or take part in global real-time events.

Characters:
Both popular characters from previous games, such as Elise, Kaori and Mac, and new faces are included.
