Split/Second: Velocity is an action racing game for the PlayStation 3 where players race in a reality-TV show and can trigger massive explosions and environmental destruction to change the track and eliminate rivals.

Destructible environments:
The core mechanic is using “Power Plays” to remotely trigger devastating events like exploding structures. This can block opponents or open entirely new routes on the track.

Dynamic track changes:
Each race can be different, as the environment changes drastically after major Power Plays, forcing players to adapt their strategies on the fly.

Arcade gameplay:
The game features arcade-style driving mechanics where action and spectacle take precedence over realistic simulation.

Multiplayer options:
The game includes a variety of modes for 2-player split-screen as well as online multiplayer with up to 8 players.
