Resistance: Fall of Man is a first-person shooter from 2006, developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) console.

The game is set in an alternate history of 1951, where players take on the role of U.S. Army Ranger Sergeant Nathan Hale fighting an alien invasion.

It was a launch title for the PS3 and was well received for its gameplay, story, and as a technical showcase for the new hardware.

Story:
The plot follows the joint efforts of US and British forces to retake the United Kingdom from the mysterious, virus-spreading Chimera species. The story is told through documentary-style narration and collectible intel documents found in the levels.

Weapons:
Insomniac Games incorporated its signature approach to designing unique, inventive weapons, such as the Chimera Auger, which can shoot through walls.
