Resistance: Fall of Man
The game begins in 1951, when the Chimera, having overrun Russia, invade Britain. US soldier Nathan Hale is sent there to support the British forces. During the game, Hale himself becomes infected with the Chimera virus but develops an immunity that grants him superhuman abilities while retaining his humanity. 

Resistance 2
The action shifts to the USA, which is now also being massively attacked by the Chimera. Hale is part of a special unit called "Sentinels", which are also infected by the virus but stabilised through regular injections. The Chimera erect gigantic towers in the USA, and humanity is on the brink of extinction. 

Resistance 3
Four years after Hale's death the world is post‑apocalyptic; the Chimera have conquered almost the entire Earth. Joseph Capelli has gone into hiding, lives with his family in a small, secret location in Oklahoma and has left the service. When a scientist tells him of one last chance – a wormhole in New York that could end the Chimera threat – Capelli sets out on a final, desperate journey across devastated America to save humanity.
