The gameplay differs greatly from previous Prince of Persia titles

Focus on acrobatics:
The game places strong emphasis on acrobatic platforming segments where the Prince runs up walls, jumps and crawls on ceilings.

No traditional death:
A unique feature is that the player cannot truly “die.” If the Prince suffers a fatal fall or takes a finishing blow, Elika automatically saves him and places him on the last safe platform.

Elika as AI companion:
Elika is a dynamic AI companion who assists in fights, puzzles and acrobatic sequences. She uses magical plates in the environment to perform special duo maneuvers.

Open-world structure:
The world is divided into various non-linear areas that the player can explore in almost any order. The goal is to heal the “fertile grounds” in each area to weaken Ahriman’s power.
