Lovely jewelry box / jewelry case - presumably from the 1950s. Outside on top covered with fabric, inside light blue velvet. The lid has a circular imprint, probably from something placed there for a long time. 
The box has been cleaned.

- Lower part made of plastic, which looks like leather.
