Roger – gentle pure air
The reduction in virus count was demonstrated in the independent Airmid laboratory in Great Britain. The air purifiers were tested for 60 minutes in a test chamber with a volume of 28.5 m3. The MS2 virus used in the test is, like the SARS-CoV-2 virus, an RNA virus. Due to its aerosol properties very similar to those of human viruses, its viability, and resistance to disinfection, the MS2 virus is often used to test air purifiers instead of viruses of the same size. With a diameter of about 25 nm, the MS2 virus is 4 times smaller than the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which has a diameter of 120 nm. Since it has been proven that the number of smaller MS2 viruses decreased during the test, we can conclude that the number of larger SARS-CoV-2 viruses will be reduced at least to the same extent.
