jacket is pretty heavy, because of the leather and padding, so i'd say you get plenty of warmth in the sleeves and back area. however warm air will pretty easily escape through the front. the zipper goes only about 2/3 of the way up. so you'll definitely feel the wind coming through in the throat area. paired with a scarf i'd say this jacket should do a good job in the cold. you'll probably also will always have enough room to pair it with a warmer windproof jacket underneath.
